Scarlet Carpet by rsharts Scarlet Carpet by rsharts
A return to landscapes, I need the practise! Poppy fields are a bit cliched I know, but they're so pretty! lol

10 x 6.5 inches, watercolours on Arches cold pressed paper.

I really love the use of wet in wet in this one. I find the technique useful for some things but I have serious doubts I'd be able to control it well enough to create something this beautiful.

(Well, I kinda suck at landscapes anyway.)

Seriously beautiful painting.

I agree...poppy fields are very beautiful. It reminds me of a monet I just did as a study of The masters. I did it in acrylic I haven't posted it yet but I will in the future. We are moving and I packed it up. Lovely gallery..once again.

My favorite red poppies  in this beautifull composition, this remind me of my childhood ... there at village ... grandma , grandpa, this "Scarlet Carpet" , fishing in the river with piece of glass and fork ..... FANTASTIC work ... thank you for all this beautifull memories....

I love the way the poppies 'blend into' the rest of the field. Lovely colours and technique! :)
